Hello! I got information from dear forum colleague that Dental Softworks CAM software is compatible with my old Cercon Brain Expert 4-achs milling machine. However Dental Softworks is German company and its hard for me to understand their website. They have only 5-achs CAM software test licence for 120e. Im wondering, does 5-achs software work with 4-achs milling machine? I think it should work fine but just wanna be sure, before trying it!

    Thanks for answers

EDIT: I already have the answer, it is compatible, moderators can delete this thread

Let me know how this works!

Many people in USA have old Cercon.

This thread will be here forever to remind future generations the hard and dangerous paths humankind had to go through to get their teeth done with ancient machinery.

The Cam is just a program. You can configure strategies to only use 4 axes . In fact, a lot of simple crowns and bridges are done in 4 axes anyway.
It’s probably a matter of how flexible/configurable your cam is and how flexible your mind is
