Pray for Colorado and other states that are suffering. This is from my from door. 11 miles away. Terrifying.

My heart goes out to you guys. The last three summers in a row we have had fires come frighteningly close and been smoked out for sometimes months at a time, not to mention it snowing ash. We're just above Washington State and Oregon, so depending on the wind, we get their smoke too. I've lived here for a long time and say what you will, it wasn't like this when I was younger.... Depressingly, we've been calling in the new normal. We used to have major fires every 4 to 6 years '94,'98, 2003 and then in 2009 it was every 1-3 years 2010,2014,2017, 2018, 2019 and now this year.
For my kids sake I hope we get our collective sh*t together and start to make some meaningful changes soon. Doing nothing and hoping it'll get better doesn't seem to be working.

Ya things are definitely changing. I’m not convinced we are able to change what’s happening though. It’s way bigger than that it’s not just the environment. The culture itself is severely damaged.
But today I’m just watching the evacuation orders to see if I have to start moving horses and other animals. On a better note I woke up to fog and this on the forecast. It won’t stop it but I’m grateful for anything that will slow it down. Even if temporarily.
