    Hi guys.

finaly i'm about to order haas cm-1 (after IDS)

I'm not sure about few option if i need them, i'm gone mill metal only, co-cr / titanium. burs and abutments.
I want to buy only the must have. and not the Luxurious or the option i will not even use
    what do you think about:

    1. spindle 30K is ok? or 50K must have?
    2. 1GB memory or more? 32GB? 64GB?
    2. remote jog handler?
    3. 8 spare m functions ?
    4. second home position?
    5. toolholder kit, iso 20 taper. is haas deal worth it or better to buy regofix or outer?
    6. 1 year extended warranty? it look very reliable machine, do i need more warranty?

thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience !

Where are you? I have built many HAAS and I recommend them!

I have One since 2012 making bars and abutments and nothing ever break.
We never clean it! Just add grease and make teeth!

It is not as easy as you might think.

    You need help, for sure!

HAAS doen not make mills ready to use. They don't speak Dental.

They only show you a few things. You have to install the 4th/5th axis yourself and calibrate yourself.

You have to install tool sensor, and program that to work.

I use Techniks tool holders. They make 2 types for ISO20

What rotary unit you looking at? The Trt100 or the trt70?

    Hi scott
    Thank for answer.
Im from israel, we got realy good haas distrebuter here.
I think the trt70 will be good.
I know there is a lot of lerning curv but open and flexible system is the reason im not taking a "ready dental mill"
I dont want to be limited for stratgy by the cnc supplier.

SUM3d I use and make anything I want.

It is custom post-processors for my HAAS.

We have One for laser tools measurement, and another for touch-probe

Also, we have post processor for 98mm disk fixture, and another for a Square fixture clamp.

We made the fixtures and clamps.

So....actually I have Four post processors custom made for only my machines.

You will probably have orientation of rotary different from me, and require custom post processor.

Good luck, and let me know if you need anything?

nah, I wish. This is old pic, but just to show you a Square/Rectangle fixture I made.
Self-Centering Vice. Turn One nut to hold the material.
Not necessary for material to be a specific thickness or size.
    Very flexible

We remove that touch sensor for tools and added Renishaw laser tool measurement.

Since this pic, I moved the sensor to different location DSC_0924.JPG

    it looks great!

I communicate with the sum3d team few month ago and thay answer really fast . I bought frome them the 3d software for a my printer, friendly software.

I have contacted a metal supplier in the past and really the cost of quare block comes out significantly cheaper than a 98 round block.

Tell me Scott, are you working with 30,000rpm Spindle ? It is enough?
Would you purchase 50,000 rpm Spindle?

We never go to 30k rpm
