    Hello Hello

I have have been into digital stuff for a while, and looking to realign myself with a new career,
currently working on a degree in cad/cam at a local school.

How does someone learn enough stuff to break into digital dental?
I am picking up on a disconnect from the traditional cnc mill/lathe/solidworks learning track and how it relates to other disciplines besides manufacturing.
For example,my program is preparing me to get a very basic entry level job, third shift, making car parts or gun barrels for example.
Personally, I need to take it the next level and skip the knuckle dragger type of situations.
Besides other maker/deign/furnature/art jobs, my end goal was to find work at dental lab, from what I can see.

Would a basic dental biology class help?
    online resources/classes.
If anyone would care to discuss, fire away

Google search dental/dental lab terminology, learn how to communicate at least basically.
Visit some dental labs in your area. Tell them you are looking for a job and have CADCAM experience.
You could probably get an entry level job pretty easily and work up from there.
CAD design in dental is different than CAD drawing, but understanding CAM....

    Thank you,
I know that parametric modeling is not the same as dental cad..
are there any good free trial dental cad cam software to learn on ?

You can purchase a demo license/dongle from a reseller. You will get no producible files out of it, but you could definitely learn the basics.

Demo versions and full tilt exocad have demo cases on board as examples to work with.

The guy who runs this board is an Exocad reseller. He can hook you up with a demo dongle and the program. BTW, it's not free, but probably the best deal you can get
