I have a 3D Systems 3000 HD Plus, with a Rev.A print head. I have leakage showing up and it is increasingly getting worse. Am I looking at a print head replacement or is there any other solutions? Are Rev.A print heads even available? Thanks!

    Not available.
    Yes can fix.
Get away from window and bright light.
    Take off printhead.
You will see the part material o rings are smaller and now leaking.
These are inbetween the bottom shiny array plate and the main body

Cut away grey goop to expose screws
    Pull off array plate
There are many aluminum pads that the array plate will bottom out on. We reduce the height so now o rings seal again .
    This is like brain surgery!
A process we made up by desperation and hard headedness

Now the plate is squeezed tighter to printhead main body.

Or....try to find a used Xerox phaser 850 paper printer. Same printhead! Lol

So, this is a procedure for a Rev A. print head, I heard this was possible on a Rev B. but didn't know it could be done on a Rev A. I love this doggone machine but I am getting leaks in two streaks down the length of the platform.
    Thank you for your help!

Make sure nothing get into material holes when you open it up.
We seal with tape before using handpiece to grind aluminum pads

This does not happen so much for Revision B.
Also, there is no shortage of O-rings for Revision B

I have a bag full of them. It takes 5-7yrs for the O-rings to shrink and cause leakage

backplane for revision B or A printhead?

Why you think backplane is bad anyways??

I have lamp and a pile of backplanes and everything else.

y stepper motor loses torque after a few seconds. swapped out the z carriage board, the stepper motor, and finally what fixed it was the backplane board. I'm assuming the revision B it's a 3600. What price are you asking for the parts I need?

I have just had the opportunity at work to save a Projet HD3000 from the scrap.
The printer is old but has only been used 4 years, the last 6 ou 7 years it was just in stock due to problems, before they decided to scrap it.
The only problem the printer has is the heavy leaking heads. RevA heads that 3DSystems offered to replace (RevB i suppose) for more than 15000€ (1/4 of the machine's price!).

I think I'm gonna change the o-rings and pray for it to work :) But I'm blocking when it comme to unmount this array plate (or the entire head BTW), the screw are off, but nothing comes. DMC,I read on another post that you have the service manual, is it possible to send it to me? I already have some for stratasys printer and those manual are a great help when it comes to customize and unmount machines :) (and thanks for the help you're providing here!)

Also, does the purging and other waste of material at each prints can be cut for a HD3000? I think it can interest my superiors, and it's easy to convince them to pay someone some $$ to reduce cost at terms :)

Push out piece of metal from side.

    It is expanding spring thing.

Slide it out from side.....tap with something

We always disable the HMS purge process. Yes

We check manually the jets and purge only if necessary
